The Teacher Training Program

Ready to take your dancing to the next level? The time is now!

The LDH’s TTP is a 12-month program designed for those who are serious about dancing and really want to step up.

Developed with the objective to improve dance skills and form well-rounded Latin Dance professional dancers and instructors in Sydney.

It consists of an intensive curriculum of classes, workshops, choreographies and special projects of various Latin dance styles.

It will demand time, energy and commitment, so make sure you’re ready.

Stage 1 – Development Plan

First things first. When you join LDH’s TTP, we’ll have a meeting to discuss:

  • Your dancing goals

  • An individual plan for the next months

  • An allocated dancing buddy for you. Someone from LDH who will be closer to you, guiding and inspiring your dancing journey.

 

Stage 2 – Development Plan

During this stage you’ll learn our syllabus and teaching technique, which will get you ready to assist in classes.

Stage 3 – Development Program

LDH is constantly offering special Classes & Workshops with guest instructors (the very best in their field), to expose our students, trainees and instructors to a wider repertoire of skills and styles.

  • Classes include skill-based themes such as: body movement, spins, drills, lifts, stretch, strength, etc.

  • Workshops include styles such as: Mambo, Pachanga, Boogaloo, Latin Jazz, Samba, Tango, etc.

LDH showcases our team members’ talent by giving them maximum exposure in the most relevant performance and competitive opportunities throughout the year.

You’ll also be allocated to Special Projects according to your development plan.

Stage 4 – Graduation

When you’re ready:

  • Become a LDH official trainee by assisting in classes

  • Perform and/or compete with LDH semi-pro team

  • Chance to get paid for shows

  • Chance to get paid to teach beginners private lessons

 

The Teacher Training Program

  • Group training sessions: Every Monday 9.30pm to 10.30pm

  • Individual training sessions: 1 Every approx. 8 weeks

  • Instructors: Johnny Campos & Steve Fernandez + Guest Instructors

  • Next audition: Mon 05 March 2018 – 9.30pm at LDH

 

Requirements

In order to be a member of our Teacher Training Program you are required to:

  • Be on a 6 or 12-month membership during the entire length of your program

  • Be invited to be part of the program or pass an audition

 

What do we offer you?

Individual Dancing Plan and Training Sessions

Once ever approx. 8 weeks we’ll meet to discuss your Individual Dancing Plan and review your participation into the TT Program. During this meeting we’ll discuss and work on:

  • Your dancing objectives

  • Your learning curve

  • Stepping stones required to achieve your objectives

  • Teaching technique tips

  • The syllabus that you will be teaching

  • Both ways feedback

 

What do we expect from you?

In order for you to make the most of your TT program and improve your dance and teaching skills, we expect you to:

  • Attend all TT sessions

  • Attend all LDH parties and dance with our students

  • Attend as many classes as possible (regardless of the level) to solidify your learning

  • Wear your Dance Mode On t-shirt at all times when at the studio

  • Join as many choreos as possible

  • Fill-in LDH classes when more boys or girls are needed
